Suriname Announces 2009 Public Holidays

(Posted on Thursday, November 20, 2008)

The government of Suriname has released the list of its expected public holidays dates for 2010.

As usual, the list contains a tentative date for the annual public holidays of Phagwah and Ied Ul Fitr.

The list of Suriname public holidays dates for 2010 maintains the August 9, International Day of Indigenous People, public holiday instituted a few years ago (08-Aug-2007).

It does not, however, maintain the anniversary of Chinese immigration to Suriname, which was declared a one-off public holiday, earlier this year (19-Sep-2008).
