Thailand: No Public Holiday On March 3

(Posted on Sunday, January 27, 2008)

Source: The Nation (Bangkok)

Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that, contrary to recent practice, it would not ask the government to declare a public holiday on Monday, March 3, 2008, the day after the senatorial election day.

There has been an unofficial tradition to declare the day after recent polls as public holidays (07-Aug-2007 and 14-Nov-2007).
