Uruguay's Vice-President, Rodolfo Nin Novoa, has clarified the government's position on the upcoming December 26 and January 2 días sandwich.
Faced with opposition from the Chambers of Commerce and the tepid support of President Tabaré Vázquez, the Vice-President stated that the 2 proposed one-off public holidays (10-Dec-2008) are just suggestions (exhortación) for both the public and private sectors.
