The Vietnam State Securities Commission has declared that, due to the Tuesday, September 2, public holiday, Monday, September 1, 2008, would be an exchange holiday in Vietnam.
This means that there will be no trading, settlement and clearing activity on this date, and that the Vietnam Securities Depository, the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange and the Hanoi Securities Trading Center will be closed.
Banks are generally expected to follow suit, and it is still possible that the government will declare a general bridge public holiday on Monday, September 1, 2008.
