Zambia's acting President, Rupiah Banda, has announced that Zambia would hold an election on 30 October to choose a successor to President Levy Mwanawasa, who died last month, and whose funeral, on September 3rd, was a public holiday in Zambia.
Based on past decisions we expect the date of these upcoming presidential elections to also be declared a public holiday.
