The Chief Minister of Australia's Northern Territory State, Paul Henderson, has confirmed that as per the state public holidays law, no day in lieu public holiday would be given for ANZAC day which, in 2009, falls on a Saturday.
This follows a similar announcement by Queensland (16-Dec-2008).
Only 2 Australian states, Western Australia (WA) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), grant a day in lieu public holiday on the Monday that follows the ANZAC Day public holiday that occurs on a Saturday.
