At today's cabinet meeting, the government of Bulgaria announced a bridge public holiday for March 2, 2009. This will mean 4 consecutive days of public holidays in early March.
The cabinet, however, did not declare bridge public holidays for May 4 and May 5, as had been widely expected and had been the tradition for a few years (11-Jan-2008 and 06-Mar-2003).
The March 2 bridge public holiday will be compensated by declaring Saturday March 14 to be a regular working day.
