Costa Rica's Minister of the Presidency, Rodrigo Arias, announced yesterday that the public sector employees would benefit from 3 additional days of public holidays, during the upcoming Easter week (Semana Santa), meaning that Costa Rica government offices will be closed from Friday night, April 3, until Monday morning, April 13, 2009.
The extension of the Easter week public sector holidays to a full week is a novelty in Costa Rica, but it has been a regular occurrence in neighboring Nicaragua 10-Mar-2008.
