News sources in Honduras report widespread surprise today, April 14, 2009, as all businesses, government offices and banks are open, despite it usually being the Day of the Americas public holiday.
As we reported a couple of weeks ago (03-Apr-2009), the government of Honduras decided that the public holiday of April 14, falling on a Tuesday, this year, would be observed on Monday, April 20, 2009, instead, as permitted by the legislative decree 50-2003.
