The government of Hungary has announced a change in the compensation day for the upcoming January 2, 2009, bridge public holiday. The compensation working Saturday will be on March 28, 2009.
The list of bridge public holidays and compensating working Saturdays, released by the government last summer (22-Jul-2008), had specified that the January 2, 2009, bridge public holiday would be compensated on January 10, 2009.
The recent change was made in response to Russia's cutting-off of European gas supplies, said Energy Minister Csaba Molnár.
