India Declares April 30 Bank And Financial Holiday

India's stock markets have announced that they would close on Thursday, April 30, 2009, due to the elections on that day. In addition, all financial institutions, including the central bank, will be closed on that date.

As such, there will be no trading, clearing and settlement activities on this day.
