Iran 2009-2010 Public Holidays

(Posted on Wednesday, March 4, 2009)

Source: Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis)

Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly has approved the list of official public holidays in Iran for the Persian year 1388, running from March 21, 2009, to March 20, 2010.

The list of official public holidays, per se, has not changed since Persian year 1387 (11-Mar-2008) and 1386 (08-Mar-2007), and the published list mainly moves a few public holidays based on the Islamic Calendar to the following day.

Apparently, the much touted movements in the Majlis to reduce the number of annual non-working public holidays in the Islamic Republic of Iran (07-Nov-2008, 20-Jul-2007, 18-Aug-2005, and 13-Apr-2005) have come to nought.
