Liberia's Deputy Chief Examiner at the National Port Authority, Richard Karyea, has called on the Legislature to declare October 29, the date of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's birthday, an annual public holiday.

The Liberian Observer reports that the bill implementing the celebration, as a national public holiday, of the birthday of Liberia and Africa's first elected female President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has been submitted to the leadership of the Upper House of the National Legislature (ie. the Senate).
