Macau's Chief Executive has declared a one-off public holiday for Wednesday, February 17, 2010.
This announcement, following a trend started a few years ago (21-May-2004, 16-Jan-2006, 31-Jan-2007, and 13-Mar-2007), was made under the purview of the "Decree Law No. 60/2000 on Public Holidays", and is presumably meant to compensate the fact that the first day of the annual Lunar New Year's Day public holiday for 2010, falls on a weekend, and will allow for a 4th day extension to the annual, 3-day, Lunar New Year public holiday.
