The President of the Pahang Mubarak (association of former elected representatives), Datuk Abdul Jabbar Ibrahim, has asked the government of the Malaysian State of Pahang to declare a public holiday in recognition of Datuk Seri Najib Razak having been recently appointed as Malaysia's sixth prime minister.
In his statement, Datuk Abdul Jabbar Ibrahim indicated that he hoped that the holiday could be declared when Najib made a home-coming trip to the state.
Pahang State, Malaysia's third largest state has 2 annual state public holidays; on May 7 and October 24.
