Mozambique's Ministry of Labour (MITRAB) has released a press communique confirming that, as this year's October 4 public holiday falls on a Sunday, a day in lieu public holiday had been declared for Monday, October 5, 2009 (fica diferida para segunda-feira).
The MITRAB announcement was based on section 3 of article 96 of Mozambique's Labour Law.
The October 4th anniversary of the 1992 peace agreement that ended the country's civil war, was declared a public holiday, named "Peace and National Reconciliation Day", in 2002 (13-Mar-2002).
