The government of Nepal has declared a non-working public holiday for tomorrow, Wednesday, December 30, 2009, on the occasion of the upcoming Tamu Lhosar (the New Year of the Gurung indigenous community).
Last year, Nepal had declared both the Tamu and the Sonam Lhosars as official public holidays (07-Mar-2008), but following a report by the Administration Restructuring Commission (ARC), the Government of Nepal is rumoured to be preparing to reduce the number of public holidays (25-Jul-2009).
