The governor of Nigeria's State of Borno, Ali Sheriff, declared a two-day public holiday for Monday and Tuesday, February 23 and 24, 2009, to enable public servants and other workers condole the family of the late Shehu of Borno.
This follows last night's funeral for the royal father of the modern Borno kingdom, the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Mustapha Mumar El-Kanemi.
