Pakistan's federal minister for minorities, Shahbaz Bhatti, recently announced that, beginning in 2010, Good Friday would be a public holiday recognized by the government of Pakistan, for the Christians of Pakistan.
This move would be aking to Boxing Day which is already a public holiday for Christians in Pakistan (December 25, is already a nationwide public holiday in Pakistan, on account of Quaid e-Azam's Birthday, not Christmas Day, per se).
