Philippines' President, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, has issued Proclamation 1669 which declares Monday, April 6, 2009, as an official non-working public holiday in the Philippines.
The aforementioned declaration is due to this year's coincidence of the Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) and Maundy Thursday public holidays, as set out in Proclamation 1699 (07-Jan-2009) which specified the official public holidays in the Philippines for the calendar year 2009.
