The pro-Kremlin President of Russia's republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has declared that, in the future, April 16 would be a public holiday throughout Chechnya.
The date of this new public holiday is to commemorate the first day, April 16, 2009, after the cancellation of the decree imposing an anti-terror operation on the territory of Chechnya.
