The government of South Africa has announced that the upcoming national elections (presidential and legislative) would be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2009.
By law, election day is a public holiday in South Africa, as it was indeed declared on the occasions of the last 2 national elections (28-Apr-1999 and 24-Feb-2004).
