Trinidad and Tobago Soon To Decide On April 17 Public Holiday

(Posted on Friday, February 13, 2009)

Trinidad and Tobago's Foreign Affairs Minister, Paula Gopee-Scoon, is quoted as saying that people could look forward to a public holiday on the first day of the Fifth Summit of the Americas in April, but did note that Prime Minister Patrick Manning is still deliberating on the matter.

The Fifth Summit of the Americas will be held in Port of Spain, from April 17-19, 2009 (03-Dec-2008).

Another international conference, the CHOGM, is scheduled for the fall (04-Jan-2009) and a public holiday is also expected on that occasion, as was the case at the last meeting in Uganda (15-Nov-2007).
