The Government of Trinidad and Tobago has officially ruled-out a one-off public holiday for the upcoming November 27-29 CHOGM Summit.
Ever since the Port-of-Spain venue was chosen for the 2009 CHOGM Summit (29-Nov-2005), there had been widespread speculation (04-Jan-2009) that the first day of CHOGM, Friday, November 27, 2009, would be declared a one-off public holiday, as was done in April for the Summit of the Americas Meeting (07-Apr-2009), and in other countries for previous CHOGM summits (15-Nov-2007).
