The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, has come out in favor of making St George's Day (April 23) a public holiday to promote unity in England.
The is the latest of a long list of calls for the UK to add to its short list of public holidays (see, for example: 15-Jan-2009, 17-Aug-2008, 12-Jul-2008, 11-Jan-2008, 26-Dec-2007, and 27-Jun-2007).
