The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, has signed the Resolution "On shifting day-off from Saturday, December 5, 2009 onto Monday, December 7, 2009", which declares Monday, December 7, 2009, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Uzbekistan.
As usual in such cases of declaring one-off non-working public holidays in Uzbekistan (25-Dec-2008, 25-Dec-2007, 01-May-2006, 28-Dec-2005 and 05-Dec-2005), the aforementioned non-working public holiday is to be compensated by having Satuday, December 5, 2009, declared a regular working day in Uzbekistan.
The net result will be a 3-day weekend as Tuesday, December 8, 2009, is already the date of the "Constitution Day" annual non-working public holiday.
