Cook Islands Could Cancel Sundays As Public Holidays

(Posted on Thursday, September 30, 2010)

The Parliament of the Cook Islands is currently reviewing proposed changes to the Cook Islands labour law.

Under the proposed law Sunday would no longer be a public holiday. As per Ministry secretary, Bredina Drollet, the rationale is that the tourism industry is large, and many people work on a Sunday anyways.
