The government of Guyana has announced that the upcoming Youmun Nabi, birth anniversary of the Prophet, public holiday, would be observed as a non-working public holiday on Saturday, February 27, 2010.
Earlier this week, the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) had announced that the Islamic month of Rabi- ul- Awwal in the Islamic Year 1431 A.H. would begin on February 16, 2010.
As is usually the case (01-Mar-2009, 22-Mar-2007, 01-Apr-2006 and 12-Apr-2005) the date announced in Guyana for the birth anniversary of the Prophet public holiday, is one day later than in the Middle East.
