The Russian Government has announced an RF Government Resolution, which specifies the official public holidays and bridge holidays in Russia for 2011.
As was done in previous years (10-Nov-2009, 28-Nov-2008, 11-Aug-2007, 06-Jan-2007, 11-Nov-2006, and 28-Dec-2005), whenever a fixed-date annual public holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, the preceding Monday or Friday will be declared a one-off bridge public holiday, to be compensated by declaring a nearby Saturday to be a regular working day.
The aforementioned resolution thus declares Monday, March 7, 2011, as a one-off bridge public holiday, to be compensated by the simultaneous declaration of Saturday, March 5, 2011, as a regular working day.
