Venezuela Declares Public Sector Holidays For 2010

(Posted on Tuesday, January 5, 2010)

The list of official public sector holidays in Venezuela has been gazetted for the calendar year 2010.

As per custom (06-Jan-2009, 08-Jan-2008 and 18-Jan-2007), the aforementioned Venezuelan list of official public sector holidays ("días no laborales para los funcionarios de la Administración Pública Nacional, durante el año 2010") includes the Monday and Tuesday of Carnival, which is not a non-working public holiday in the private sector.

The Carnival public sector holidays are the only holidays that the public sector gets in common with banks, which have a plethora of additional bank holidays (10-Dec-2009).
