(Posted on Wednesday, July 27, 2011)

The Senate of Argentina has approved a bill which would declare February 27, 2012, as a one-off nationwide public holiday to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Creation and First Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of Argentina.

Last year (04-May-2010), Argentina's President, Cristina Fernαndez de Kirchner, signed an executive decree making Monday, May 24, 2010, a one-off (por ϊnica vez) non-working public holiday to coincide with Argentina's bicentennial.
