The Bahamas' Cabinet Office has issued a communique which lists the official Bahamas public holidays for the calendar year 2012.
Contrary to what happened last year (11-Jan-2011) there are no issues related to the date of the Discovery Day public holiday, nor to any additional day in lieu public holidays caused by Christmas and the New Year falling on a weekend.
Note, however, that the name Discovery Day, remains yet unchanged, stemming from the government's reluctance (14-Oct-2009 and 28-Sep-2007) to gazette the National Heroes Bill and the National Honours Bill, which were approved by both houses of Parliament, almost 5 years ago (30-Mar-2007).
