Laos Public Holidays April 16-17

(Posted on Thursday, April 5, 2012)

The government of Laos has declared Monday and Tuesday, April 16 and 17, 2012, as additional non-working public holidays in Laos.

As per the aforementioned Lao Government announcement, confirming an announcement earlier this year (17-Jan-2012), Monday and Tuesday, April 16 and 17, 2012, were declared additional non-working public holidays due to the fact that, in 2012, the two days of the Lao New Year festival fall on the weekend.

In past years (10-Apr-2009 and 08-Apr-2008), the annual 3-day Pi Mai public holidays have often been extended, but not always (09-Apr-2011).
