The Consell de la Generalitat Valenciana has announced that it would announce its calendar of 2013 public holidays, and in particular whether to move some public holidays to adjoin a nearby weekend, as it had said it was considering, by September 30.
At the beginning of the summer (03-Jul-2012), the Consell de la Generalitat Valenciana had announced that it was considering moving the San José and October 9th annual public holidays to a nearby Monday.
The move to get rid of bridge and aqueduc holidays was initiated in Catalonia last fall (08-Oct-2011) and early this year (12-Jan-2012) the government of Spain reached an agreement with the Employers' Union (CEOE) and Labour Unions as to the 3 mid-week 2012 non-working public holiday would be moved to a nearby Monday, thus amending the previously released list of official national public holidays in Spain for 2012 (14-Oct-2011), although this has not yet been gazetted as of today.
The official list of Valencia public holidays is usually released in the fall (05-Nov-2011).
