(Posted on Thursday, January 3, 2013)

Source: Islamic Republic News Agency (Tehran)

The Governor General of the Iranian Capital, Tehran, has declared another one-off public holiday on Saturday, January 5, 2013, as a safety precaution due to Tehran's current levels of pollution.

The declaration of regional public holidays in Iran due to poor air quality is relatively common (03-Dec-2012, 29-Nov-2010, 22-Nov-2010 and 07-Jul-2009).
