The head of Kenya's Public Service, Francis Kimemia, has announced that the Government of Kenya will gazette Tuesday, April 9, 2013, as another one-off non-working public holiday in Kenya, on account of the upcoming presidential inauguration.

The aforementioned declaration of Tuesday, April 9, 2013, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Kenya, is in line with last year (02-Aug-2012) Assumption of Office of The President Bill constitutional bill, which confirmed earlier announcements (08-Jun-2012) that an official non-working public holiday would be declared on the day the next President inauguration (03-Feb-2013).

A one-off public holiday was declared last month to coincide with the recent general elections (26-Feb-2013).
