The Government of India's State of Telangana has released the "Telangana GO List of General Holidays, Optional Holidays for the year 2017" (G.O.RT.No. 2529) which officially lists the annual non-working public holidays to be observed in the Indian State of Telangana for the upcoming calendar year 2017.

Telangana was formed as the 29th state of India on June 2, 2014, having been separated from the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Initially, in the announced list of the names (but no dates) of the annual non-working public holidays in the Indian state of Telangana, the Bathukamma non-working public holiday was thought to be destined to be observed on the first day of the Bathukamma Festival, but as per today's announcement, it appears that the Bathukamma non-working public holiday in the Indian state of Telangana is to be observed on the last day of the festival, on the Saddula Bathukamma.

The initial list of the names (but no dates) of the annual non-working public holidays in the Indian state of Telangana, was later followed by the list of the names and dates for 2015 of the non-working public holidays in India's state of Telangana, as published in the "G.O.Rt.No.995, General Administration (Poll.A) Department, dated 05.11.2014, notifying the General Holidays and Optional Holidays 2015", and last year (07-Dec-2015), the Government of India's State of Telangana released the "Telangana GO 3192 List of General Holidays, Optional Holidays for the year 2016" which officially listed the annual non-working public holidays to be observed in the Indian State of Telangana for the calendar year 2016, though this was later amended (31-Dec-2015), when the Government of India's State of Telangana issued the "G.O.Rt.No.3192 Dated 30.12.2015" which declared New Year's Day 2016, on Friday, January 1st, 2016, as a non-working public holiday in India's State of Telangana, as opposed to an optional public holiday in India's State of Telangana.
