Kazakhstan January 9 Public Holiday Ruled-Out

(Posted on Wednesday, January 4, 2017)

Source: Electronic government of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Astana)

The government of Kazakhstan, via its Ministry of Health and Social Development, has issued a statement ruling-out the declaration of Monday, January 9, 2017, as a day in lieu non-working public holiday in Kazakhstan, due to the Orthodox Christmas public holiday of Kazakhstan falling on a Saturday in 2017.

The statement denying that Monday, January 9, 2017, had been declared a day in lieu non-working public holiday in Kazakhstan, due to the Orthodox Christmas public holiday of Kazakhstan falling on a Saturday in 2017, is in line with the official list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the calendar year 2017, which was released by the government of Kazakhstan, last year (17-Oct-2016 and 31-May-2016).
