India's Karnataka State Declares November 28 Public Holiday

Source: The Mangalorean (Bangalore) - Summary: Karnataka State Chief Minister, B.S. Yeddyurappa, declared a one-off public holiday on Friday, November 28, 2008, for schools, colleges, government offices and banks following the death of former Prime Minister V.P. Singh.

The Karnataka State Government has also announced a seven-day mourning from November 27 to December 3, 2008. During this period public and entertainment programmes will be suspended.
