Source: Maldives President's Office - Summary: The President of the Maldives, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, has issued a communique announcing that in all likelihood, he would be ratifying the new constitution of the Maldives on Thursday, August 7, 2008.
Considering that weekends in the Maldives are Fridays and Saturdays, and the President's fondness of declaring one-off public holidays we deem it likely that a one-off public holiday will be declared in the Maldives on Thursday, August 7, 2008.
