Thailand Declares December 15-18 Public Holidays For ASEAN Summit

(Posted on Wednesday, November 5, 2008)

Source: The Straits Times (Singapore) - Summary: The government of Thailand has declared public holidays for the region of Chiang Mai from Monday to Thursday, December 15-18, 2008, to facilitate traffic and security measures during the upcoming ASEAN summit.

The government has earlier been forced to change the summit venue from Bangkok to the northern city as anti-government protesters refuse to leave the prime minister's offices, which they have occupied since August.
