Source: Turkmenistan.ru - Summary: The President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamdov, instructed the chairperson of the Turkmen parliament, Akja Nurverdiyeva, to make amendments to the list of Turkmenistan's holidays as well as to the legislation of Turkmenistan, to establish a new national holiday, the Day of Turkmen Cultural Workers, to be marked annually on June 27.
The official law texts have not been released yet, but our local contacts expect this new national holiday to be a non-working day (ie. a public holiday).
