05 Apr 2012 (Falkland Islands Government-Stanley) The Falkland Islands Government has announced the dates of the non-working public holidays and government holidays in the Falkland Islands for the remainder of the first semester of the calendar year 2012.
09 Oct 2011 (Falkland Islands Government-Stanley) The Falkland Islands Government has finally confirmed that Monday, June 4th, 2012, would be declared a one-off public holiday in the Falkland Islands to mark the royal diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
17 Sep 2011 (Falkland Islands Government Department of Agriculture-Stanley) The Falkland Islands Government has announced the dates of the public holidays and government holidays for December 2011 and January 2012.
31 Jul 2011 (Falkland Islands Government-Stanley) At the last Falkland Islands General Purposes Committee of the Executive Council (Exco) meeting, the Public Diplomacy Group suggested that Monday, June 4th, 2012, be made a one-off public holiday to mark the royal diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

04 Dec 2010 (Falkland Islands News Network-Stanley) At the last Falkland Islands Executive Council (Exco) meeting, the Exco advised the Acting Governor, Ric Nye, to issue a notice appointing December 29, 2010, as a public holiday.
07 Nov 2008 (BBC News) A new constitution, which will come into force on January 1, 2009, has been agreed for the Falkland Islands.
23 Sep 2007 (Mercopress) The government of the Falkland Islands has announced that on Friday, October 5, 2007, flags will fly at half-mast all over the Falkland Islands, to coincide with the funeral of Major General Sir Jeremy Moore, who commanded British land forces during the 1982 Falkland Islands War.
25 May 2007 (Falkland Islands Government-Stanley) At this week's EXCO meeting, the Falkland Islands government confirmed that Friday, June 15, 2007, would be a one-off public holiday/non-working day in the Falkland Islands to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Liberation of the Falklands from Argentine occupation.

All Government Offices other than those providing essential services are closed from 25 December to 1 January inclusive each year.
Margaret Thatcher Day is on January 10, but is not a Public Holiday nor a Government Holiday.
Falkland Day is on August 14, but is not a Public Holiday nor a Government Holiday.
There are two days of horse racing after Christmas, known as Stanley Races .
