Background Information

Governing Law: Official public holidays in Tonga are regulated by the Public Holidays Act [Cap 51] (Act No. 8 of 1919, 11 of 1970, 18 of 1988), as amended in 2006, 2007 and 2010.  Weekend Public Holidays: When public holidays fall on a Sunday, they are observed on the following Monday.
