[M], [Mm], [MM] : Partial Month Name

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Use these tokens when you wish to set the first letter of the current month name with different type attributes than the rest of the word. [M] gives you the first letter of the weekday, and [Mm] and [MM] give you all the other letters.

On November 10th :

[M] = 'N' in English and in French.

[Mm] = 'ovember' in English and 'ovembre' in French.

[MM] = 'OVEMBER' in English and 'OVEMBRE' in French.

To base the conversion of either of the present tokens on the value of the [mmm] token rather than the [mmmm] token, append the :sh modifier to the end of the token. For example : [Mm:sh] and [MM:sh]. The use of [M:sh] is also possible, but it is rarely used, except for languages where the first letter of the month names differs from the short to the full version of the name.

Remember that tokens are case-sensitive; the tokens [m] and [M] are totally different. Also these are mixed tokens and that, as such, the translation used by Q++ to convert these tokens is the one you supplied.
