The holiday name is the text that will appear in your Output File if you use tokens such as the [fa]..[fu] tokens.

The holiday name editor is located at the top right of the recurring holidays tab of the Holidays Manager. It is used to edit the holiday name which is displayed using [fa]..[fu] tokens among others. You can include tokens recursively in Holiday names.

Any underscore character "_" (without the quotes) contained in this string will be replaced by a non-breaking space and tilde characters "~" (without the quotes) contained in this string will be replaced by a normal space.

The name of a holiday can also be made variable.

The section below does not apply to the Unicode version of Q++ Studio, as formatting of holiday names in that version is done via macros. Each holiday name can be formatted with most of the options available to you in QuarkXPress (ie. bold, italic, underlined, fonts, colors), except for paragraph attributes and character pairs attributes.

This in-place editor, and its popup menu, allows you to apply basic formatting (plain, bold, italic and underline). To fully edit all text attributes of the currently selected holiday in the Q++ Rich Text Editor, click on the ellipsis button above the editor.

A vertical panel to the right of the editor, shows you if the displayed holiday name contains any specific reference to a font name, font size or font color. This is important, because having specific references to a given color (black for example) means that a holiday may appear in black in a diary grid which otherwise display all text in blue.

Most of the time you should not see any of the 3 icons, as most holidays names are purely textual.
