Updating your License

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Q++ is licensed on a yearly basis. Whenever your renewal has been processed, you will receive back, by email, a file named QppLicenseUpdate.zip. To install this new license :

1.Extremely Important : Shut down Q++ on all client workstations (you do not need to worry about the Q++ Server).

2.Unzip the file QppLicenseUpdate.zip and copy the file it contains, QppLicenseUpdate.exe, to the c:\qpp\ folder of any of the Q++ workstations (but not the server).

3.Run the program QppLicenseUpdate.exe by double-clicking on it. The program will ask you, again, to make sure that Q++ has been closed on all client workstations. It will then update your licenses in less than 1 second and will inform you if the update was successful.

4.The steps above only need to be carried out on 1 of the workstations. You do not need to repeat these steps for all workstations.

You will also need to get an update to QppLicenseUpdate.zip whenever you make major changes to the hardware configuration of your workstation (ie. reformat disk c:\, change network card, etc...). In that case you should follow step 5 of the workstation installation instructions again, before obtaining an updated license and then following the above instructions.
