Week Numbers Options in One Line Minicalendars

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The One-Line Minical w# markers options dialog ets you specify the days on which the w# markers should be replaced by a week number.

The options are :

Full Weeks

The weekday on which the week number should appear for full weeks (ie. weeks where all 7 days belong to the same month).

Partial First Week

What to do if the first week of the month begins after the weekday selected in the above option (for example, you wish to display the week number on Thursdays, but a given month begins on a Friday).

Partial Last Week

What to do if the last week of the month ends before the weekday selected in the above option (for example, you wish to display the week number on Thursdays, but a given month ends on a Wednesday).

Week is Partial if

How to decide if a first or last week is partial. The 2 possible setings are either Contains less than 7 days or Does not contain the weekday above (ie. the weekday on which we told Q++ to display the week number).

If Week is Partial, then

What to do if the first/last week of the month is determined to be partial, according to the setting above (for example, you wish to display the week number on Thursdays, but a given month ends on a Wednesday). The Show on usual weekday only option means that the partial week may not display a week number at all. The Show on usual weekday, even if ... option means that the partial weeks will always display a week number, even if it is just before or just after the beginning or end of the month. The Show on the first/last day of the month option means that the first/last week will always display a week number, but not necessarily on the weekday requested above.

Finally, the Center in partial week option tells Q++ to try to center the week number within the partial week; if the number of days in the partial week is odd, then the week number will appear at the position of the central day (eg. if the partial week has only 5 days, then the week number will appear near the 3rd day). However, if the partial week contains an even number of days then the half tab position is approximated by a fixed number of spaces, given by the value of the tab width setting.

As usual, if the above options are not clear, the best way to understand them is to test various settings and view the result immediately in the preview
