Malaysia's Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad, has declared November 29, 1999, a one-off electoral non-working public holiday throughout Malaysia, to enable people to participate in the upcoming polls.

Such one-off public holidays are common in Malaysia (23-Sep-1998).
