Malaysia Declares November 22 Public Holiday

Malaysia's Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad, announced that Thursday, November 22, 2001, would be a one-off public holiday, throughout Malaysia, on account of the death, earlier today, of the King, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.
